             The city has got history of nearly 500 Years. The great saint" SAI BABA" from Shirdi near Ahmednagar made the city famous all over the country.
                 It is well known to the people of Maharashtra state by the name of  Saint Dnyaneshwar who made the translation of our holy    "Bhagwatgita" in Marathi i.e our "Dnyaneshwari "in Newasa near Ahmednagar.

        This tomb can be seen from any part of Ahmednagar , it is commonly known as "Chandbibi Mahal". But it is a tomb of Sultan Khan II the famous minister of Murtaza nazam Shah I The hill is about 3080 feet high from sea level. the building is plain but having Eight sided platform. By the simple contrivance of a stone terrace built about twelve feet high and 100 yards broad thetomb seems to rise with considerable dignity from the centre of an octagon.The tomb has angularholes so placed that rising and setting sunlight falls on it.

      The   biggest Dam in Ahmednagar city.  It is named as "Dnyaneshwarsagar Dam"  It is very near to Mahatma Phule Krishi  Vidhyapeeth.  Near the Dam there is a beautiful rest House 
Rehkuri Forest, Tal. Karjat

    It is situated in Karjat taluka near Ahmednagar,there is a sanctuarery for deers  The bird "Maldhok" which is not seen at any other place is also seen in this forest. The sanctuary occupies space of nearly 300 Hectors. September to December is the best period to visit.
    Anand-Dham, Ahmednagar

          Land of Ahmednagar is made holy by many saints born on this land. One    of them is jain  saint Shri Anand Rishiji Maharaj. He was born in  Shiral Chichondi   near Ahmednagar, He took Jain Diksha at the age of 13 years he was dead on March 1992. The place Anand Dham is developed in his memory. Many social activities are arranged in his memory.                                             
                     Shri Siddhivinayak Temple, Siddhtek, Tal. Karjat

                         It is one of the Eight  famous  Ganesh mandir in Maharashtra as "Ashtavinayak"It is near the river bhima in Karjat taluka.

      The place is 5 Kms away from Ahmednagar. There are small ponds of water with shining clean water & a big water fall near the " Siddheshwar Temple"
                                   Ahmednagar Fort, Ahmednagar

           The fort of Ahmednagr is the only fort on    land. It was first built by Ahmed Nizam Shah to commomorate his victory over Jahangir Khan. In 1759 the forte was captured by Maratha king and remained in their hands till  General Wellesley captured it. In 1945 many Indian patiots like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru  Sardar Wallabhai patel Acharya Deo was detained  in the fort. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru wrote his famous book "The Discovery of India" in this fort."
                          The place where Jawaharlal  Nehru  was detained is kept along with some articles he used  are kept there till today
    The place is 2.5 Kms. from Ahmednagar.

             Meher Baba first visited the Ahmednagar area in 1923, staying at Khushru Quarters, the present site of the Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust. Throughout the years, He made Ahmednagar a center for His work, first at Meherabad near the village of Arangaon, 10 km (6 miles) to the south, and later at Meherazad near the village of Pimpalgaon-Malvi, 14 km (9 miles) to the north.

                The name of Ahmednagar is well known all over the country by the name of "SHIRDI" the great saint "Sai Baba" lived in SHIRDI and  in his memory the big "SAI BABA " temple is built here. Museum where the articals used by Shri Sai Baba arekept still today. "Bhakta Niwas" is built for the leaving acomodationof the people at a very cheap cost, inspite of the many Five Star hotels near the temple. The main functions as Gurupournima, Dashhara,& Ram Navmi are celebrated with great enthusisasm. The place is 81 Kms from Ahmednagar. The temple is one of the  biggest temple worth to be visited by all.
