class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rural Development Minister Pankaja Munde presents awards worth Rs 11 crore to the Municipal Corporation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Good performance due to measures taken for the city and cooperation of citizens: Commissioner Yashwant Dange<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ahilyanagar \u2013 Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has won the top three prizes in the competition held under the state government\u2019s Majhi Vasundhara 5.0 campaign for the third consecutive year. Ahilyanagar won the third prize of Rs 5 crore in the population group of 3 to 10 lakh. Also, last year, the state had won the second prize of Rs 6 crore in the Majhi Vasundhara 4.0 campaign. Both these awards worth Rs 11 crore were distributed by the state\u2019s Rural Development Minister Pankaja Munde. Mayor Jyoti Gade, Deputy Mayor Dhananjay Jadhav and Commissioner Yashwant Dange accepted the award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The ceremony was held in Mumbai in the presence of Minister Pankaja Munde and Principal Secretary of the Environment Department Jayashree Bhoj. For the past two years, the Municipal Corporation had secured the second position at the state level in the Majhi Vasundhara Campaign. This year too, the Municipal Corporation performed well and secured the third position. Measures were taken as per the government's instructions in the areas of land, air, fire, water and sky. Various campaigns were conducted in the city to involve citizens in this regard. Commissioner Yashwant Dange expressed the opinion that the Municipal Corporation was able to perform well due to the hard work of all the officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation, especially the solid waste management department and sanitation workers, and the cooperation of the citizens.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has won a prize of Rs 1.50 crore in the former Vasundhara Abhiyan 2.0, Rs 6.00 crore in 3.0, Rs 6.00 crore in 4.0, and Rs 5 crore in 5.0. These funds were used for various parks, green areas, solar energy projects, tree plantations, and awareness campaigns on the environment in the city. Under My Vasundhara Abhiyan 5.0, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation was ranked first in the state in the three to ten lakh population group in taking the green oath in the second quarter. 1,48,895 citizens of the city took the individual green oath. While 2002 groups took the collective oath, Commissioner Dange also said. The Municipal Corporation has also recently won the top award in the state in the e-Governance and Seva Karmi Abhiyan. Commissioner Yashwant Dange also said that it is our effort to provide better facilities to the citizens by making the Municipal Corporation capable and dynamic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">First prize in the coming year<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Objective: Mayor<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the Majhi Vasundhara 6.0 campaign, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has set a goal of getting first place in the population group of three to ten lakhs. For this, all the office bearers and officials are planning and improving the measures. Mayor Jyoti Gade has appealed to all citizens to participate in this campaign and cooperate in building the reputation of the Municipal Corporation in the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cleanliness improves the health of the city<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Stay healthy: Deputy Mayor<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cleanliness is not just a part of beautification or beautification. Cleanliness helps in maintaining the health of the citizens of the city. If the health of the citizens remains good, the contribution of the citizens in the development of the city also increases. All these positive aspects promote the progress of the city. In the coming time, efforts will be made for the complete cleanliness of the city by bringing all the citizens together and taking everyone along, said Deputy Mayor Dhananjay Jadhav.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Municipal Corporation has created my Vasundhara.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Achievements under the campaign<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Land: Under this component, the Municipal Corporation planted indigenous species of trees during the year. The trees were nurtured and kept alive. Garbage was collected from house to house and processed. Awareness was created to avoid the use of single-use plastic. The city was made open defecation free and maintained the 'ODF Plus' status under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Air: In this component, the Municipal Corporation checked the air quality during the campaign period and took measures against it. Awareness was created to prevent pollution during festivals. Continuous cleanliness campaigns are being carried out. Construction work being done in the city, demolition work was done, garbage was collected and disposed of.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Water: In this component, the Municipal Corporation took measures to maintain the water level in the city. The city's water reservoirs were cleaned. The Sina riverbed in the city was cleaned. A water audit of public buildings was conducted. Citizens were encouraged to harvest rainwater. Artificial ponds were created at various places in the city to prevent water pollution during Ganpati immersion. Efforts were made to sell eco-friendly idols and encourage citizens to buy them by explaining their advantages and disadvantages to celebrate an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fire: In this component, the Municipal Corporation worked to install LED street lights in the city. Solar plants were installed at various places in the city. Awareness was created among the citizens to install solar panels on private houses. Also, energy audits of public buildings were conducted and measures were taken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aakash: In this component, the Municipal Corporation organized competitions and programs to spread awareness among the citizens about the campaign. Citizens and students took a green oath to make the city green. Environmentally-loving individuals from the city were selected as environmental ambassadors and through various programs and with their participation, the objective of the campaign was achieved by creating awareness in the city. In the Majhi Vasundhara campaign, the Municipal Corporation is implementing various activities based on the five elements of nature - earth, air, water, fire, and sky. Under Majhi Vasundhara 3.0, the Environment Department has been implementing various programs under the guidance of Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Javale for the last few years to create awareness among the citizens about the environment. Taking note of the work being done by the Municipal Corporation, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has been ranked second in the state among the cities with the best performance in the population group of 3 lakh to 10 lakh under the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 3.0 campaign and an award of Rs. 6 crore was given at the \u2018Majhi Vasundhara 3.0 Samman\u2019 ceremony held at NCPA in Mumbai on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5. On April 20, on the occasion of Urban Development Day, in a grand ceremony held at NCPA, the officials of Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation were felicitated with a cheque of Rs. 5 crore and a memento in the presence of Hon. Chief Minister Eknathji Shinde and Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis, as well as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Hon. Rahulji Narvekar, Minister of School Education Hon. Deepakji Kesarkar, Chief Secretary of the State Hon. Shri Manukumar Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Hon. Shri Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary Hon. Smt. Sonia Sethi, Commissioner and Director Shri. Kiran Kulkarni. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, 2414 individual toilets have been constructed in the municipal area. Families in the cities who do not have toilet facilities. Families who used to defecate in the open have been provided with individual household toilets. In this way, by providing toilet facilities to every family in the city, Ahilyanagar city has become an open defecation-free city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Taking note of the work being done by Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation, in the Central Government's Swachh Survekshan 2023 competition, under the guidance of Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Javale, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has secured 3rd rank at the state level in the D class municipal corporation group. It has also secured first rank in Nashik division. Along with this, it has secured 3 stars for garbage-free cities and ODF++ status for open defecation-free city.
