Brief outline of the working of the Finance Department:-
1. Drawing government grants, reconciliation, posting bills, and making cashbook entries.
2. Overseeing the work of deposit classification, handling correspondence such as government letters and charts.
3. Preparing and issuing cheques to all government institutions in the municipal fund, preparing annual budget, and issuing fixed deposit receipts.
4. Accepting payments from all departments in the Finance Department.
5. Preparing pension cases of retired employees, looking after the work of defined benefit scheme. Looking after the work of NPS, sending pension every month, sending pension, issuing pension certificates.
