Introduction regarding work:

The Municipal Corporation is a local self-government body and is responsible for providing basic and infrastructural services within the limits of the Municipal Corporation. The Projects Department implements the schemes Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Ramai Awas Yojana for the citizens living within the limits of the Municipal Corporation.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (BLC), a subsidy of Rs. 2.50 lakh is provided in phases for the construction of houses to eligible beneficiaries who have their own land within the municipal limits.

Ramai Awas Yojana is mainly implemented for Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist communities. Under Ramai Awas Yojana, a subsidy of Rs. 2.50 lakh is provided in stages to eligible beneficiaries who have their own land within the municipal limits for the construction of houses.

In addition to these housing schemes, the following projects are being implemented under the Projects Department.

1) To develop a new commercial complex with parking facility in place of the existing old shopping complex at Professor Colony Chowk, Sawedi CC No. 129 (of).

2) To develop a commercial complex including a vegetable market at Nehru Market CC No. 208.

3) To develop a theatre, parking and shopping complex at the place owned by Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation at City Survey No. 6466,7547, 7189 (Sarjepura Rangbhavan)

4) Implement a special project in the area adjacent to Sawedi S.No. 2/18/2, 2/1 K/2 and 2/1D/2/2, Parichai Hotel.

5) Sawedi Group No. 228/1, 228/3A, 228/3A Pai, 229/1B/2 and 229/1B/2A

To construct a hostel for employed/working women on vacant land of the Municipal Corporation.
